1. Criss-Crossed Ridges

When a mole enters or exits the ground, it will leave behind a raised mound of dirt. These are usually no more than six inches tall.

How to Get Rid of Moles

If moles are destroying your yard, you can do a few things to get rid of them. If you have an active mole problem, buy a humane trap to trap them. Once you’ve got them, release them at least five miles away from your home so they can’t make their way back.

Moles don’t like a lot of noise. Buy an ultrasonic noisemaker and plug it in outside to deter them.

Mix castor oil and dish detergent and soak the entrance of their mole tunnels. They hate the smell of this and won’t want to go in. Dipping an ear of corn in roofing tar will get you similar results.

For a furry deterrent, buy yourself a cat. They can be a perfect way to keep rodents away.
