Life is so busy. When you add up all the time adults spend at work and doing chores and how much time kids are at school or nursery, you might feel worried that there just isn’t any time left to really spend together and bond.
The truth is, there isn’t a lot of time. However, you can make the time by being organized, taking time away from work, and ensuring that the time you do spend with your family is worthwhile – yes, it’s good to chill out and watch movies, and that can be a memorable event, but if that’s the only thing you do when you’re together, you’re missing out. There are so many other options that will help you create some amazing memories and really bond. Read on to find out what some of them are.
Try Outdoor Activities
Being out in nature is something we should all try to do more of. Unless you have a job that means you can be outside a lot of the time, you probably aren’t getting as much fresh air and vitamin D as you really need to be healthy. Unless your kids spend a lot of time playing outside, the same goes for them. So, when you have the opportunity to be together and enjoy the time you have, being outdoors to do it makes a lot of sense.
The great thing about doing outdoor activities is that there is an endless supply of them. From hiking to cycling to conducting a nature walk to pond dipping to literally just running about in the yard or park, this is all great. You can go as wild as you want, especially as kids get older, but when they’re little, they’ll be happy just to be with you in the great outdoors. Even if they’re not walking yet or they get tired very quickly, this is still possible when you have a good stroller. Make spending time together with your child memorable, exciting and fun with Bugaboo baby strollers and car seats, for example.
Read Together
Reading together might not sound like the most exciting of activities, but it really can be an amazing way to spend your time and something that your child will remember fondly for their entire lives. Reading at bedtime is a great place to start, especially if everyone is busy. No matter what, if you can spare these ten minutes a day to really be with your little one and have some fun storytelling adventures, that is wonderful.
However, if you can read at other times, too, this will also be a great bonding opportunity. You can spend a whole afternoon in a blanket fort reading to each other or silently to yourselves but together. Or perhaps you’ll opt for an audiobook – these can be great for those times when you really want to relax.
Learn a New Skill
No one knows everything, so if you have the opportunity to try something new, it’s always worth doing so. It might be that you don’t like it, but you might love it. Crucially, it might be something that you can use in your everyday life.
If you can use this time learning new skills to also be with your child and for them to learn the same skills, that’s the perfect way to bond and enjoy one another’s company. Look out for parent and child activities such as cooking, pottery, or learning a new sport, and take part when you can.
